Acne is quite common form of skin disorder and they can be in form of pimples, the blackheads or white heads in its mild form, and cysts or nodules. Acne nodules are also known as cystic acne, offten do not respond to medications that are used to treat acne. That includes salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. A nodule is a solid, dome shaped or irregularly shaped lesion. Acne nudules are the form of acne charactized by blocked oil glands that produce inflamed skin and tissue. Nodular acne are the sign of skin inflammation, and it spreads deeper into the skin destroying skin tissues and causing severe pain and scarring.

Acne nodules treatment includes some basic steps. A person needs to take some important precautions like keeping your face clean by washing your face two to three times a day, sleeping on a clean pillow cover, and using clean towel or face tissues. It is very important not to go to bed with make up on. Next, do not touch, pop or squeeze the whiteheads or blackheads. By doing this you could cause infection. Be sure to pull your hair away when sleeping otherwise it can irritate the skin and cause acne.

The best way to treat acne nodules is to take care of it immediately during its early stages. This is very important due to the fact it can prevent further skin inflammation, infection and scarring. Antibiotics can help minimize inflammations, prevent further break outs, stop infection and ease the swelling of the skin. Other than antibiotics, a physician may prescribe an oral medication called isotretinoin. This medicament reduces the amount of oil produced by the skin and prevent clogged pores.
However, isotretinoin could have some side unwanted effects. It is not prescribed to pregnant women because it has been known to cause birth defects. They can cause nosebleeds, itching, muscle aches, depression, skin and mouth dryness. A physician may also directly remove excess sebum and dead skin cells from the skin using sterile equipment. Once the nodules are controlled by the acne nodules treatment, the patients can concentrate on minimizing the appearance of scars and reducing the bumps.

I don’t have bad acne, I get a few pimples here and there, but it seems like every couple weeks ill get a large nodule acne, their usually just one and they are large and painful. I wash my face twice a day and drink at least a gallon of water a day. And they always appear around the same place too, right around my chin and one spot on my forehead. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
